STARS (Sensory teaching)
The Sensory Teaching Advisory and Resources Service (STARS) provides hearing and vision support to learners aged 0 to 25 years.
They aim to help all learners to reach their academic potential, and become active members of society.
The qualified teachers are specially trained to support learners with hearing and / or vision loss.
Each child who is supported by STARs service has an allocated worker, who visits the school regularly, to ensure school are meeting the needs and providing an inclusive learning experience. They also lone specialist equipment to children to support them to access the curriculum.
If you believe your child would benefit from support from the service, please speak to Miss Rennison or Miss Deakin. Referrals can be made by professionals or parents and carers, via the website.
